This 40 minute course is intended for all employees who work outdoors. Heat illness training is required annually for supervisors and employees routinely exposed to higher temperatures. The content in this course is designed to comply with the Cal/OSHA Heat Illness Prevention Standard, Title 8 California Code of Regulations Section 3395. Course objectives include:
- Planning to develop and implement written procedures for complying with the Cal/OSHA Heat Illness Prevention Standard.
- Training all employees and supervisors about heat illness prevention.
- Providing enough fresh water so that each employee can drink at least 1 quart per hour, and encourage them to do so.
- Providing access to a shaded area to prevent or recover from heat illness and where employees can take rest breaks.
**PLEASE NOTE: The Learning Management System (LMS), where trainings are housed, is set up for employees. If you are a student or visiting scholar, you must request access to the system before you can complete your training. Please email hr-learning@ucdavis.edu to request access to the system.
Required for all supervisors and employees working at outdoor locations.
