Forklift Safety Certification is required training for all UC Davis employees who operate a forklift.  Supervisors directly responsible for forklifts used within their departments must ensure that only trained and certified individuals operate equipment.  As specified in California Code of Regulations, Title 8, section 3668, all forklift truck operators must complete initial training and be evaluated for operation performance prior to being assigned to operate a forklift truck.  Refresher performance evaluation is required every three years.  Training is to be conducted "under the direct supervision of persons who have the knowledge, training, and experience to train operators and evaluate their competence" within each department.  Please contact your Departmental Safety Coordinator (DSC) to inquire about departmental training.  For more information and instructions regarding UC Davis Forklift Safety Certification requirements, please see Forklift Operations Training.
